Every time we order a meal through Seamless or look up an address on Google Maps, we create data. Yet, we the people do not benefit from this wealth of information. Only large corporations such as Google and Amazon are able to profit from it. Andreas Weigend — a technology consultant for Nokia, MasterCard, and Lufthansa, among others — wants to change that. In Data for the People, he shows us how we can reassert control over our data by demanding that corporations allow us to make choices about how it will be sold. Only then will we get as much from our data as we give. Vital reading for anyone who owns a mobile phone, internet connection, or even a debit card, Data for the People puts the power of data back into our hands.
